Leave the light on是Tom Walker在2017年釋出的專輯，專輯名稱和這首歌一樣，所以說這首歌其實就是這張專輯的靈魂。同張專輯裡面還有很多歌很值得一聽，大家有空可以自己尋寶一下。
關於這首歌的背景，其實是Tom Walker想寫給自已一個很好的朋友，但這位朋友和歌詞裡寫的一樣，深受毒品困擾著。
不知道觀眾們有沒有類似的經驗，自己身邊最親近的家人或是朋友是毒品成癮者。我有這種經驗。而那並不是一段很讓人想回想的記憶。記得當時那個人告訴我，吸毒是全世界最快樂的事情，不過全世界最痛苦的事情也在毒癮發作的時候，為了緩解中斷毒品帶來的不適感，只好一而再再而三的將毒品送進自己的身體裡。那是一條不歸路。還要我提醒有機會的人，千萬不要去嘗試。當時我眼看著他給周遭的人帶來各式各樣的困擾，卻無力幫忙解決。唯一能做的就是多跟對方說說話，多陪伴。他們心裡其實很空虛，很需要人關心的。
想到就好沉重…總之，希望大家都可以愛惜自己的身體，不要以身犯險唷~
